Entertainment
A number of cultural events occur in and near the communities. The Bay Area Houston Ballet and Theatre group stages ballet and American musical theater performances. The Clear Lake Symphony offer performances each year from classical to pop. The Arts Alliance at Clear Lake, a group of 50 area arts organizations, regularly schedules arts exhibits, musical performances, and other arts programs.
The Gulf Coast Film Festival annually showcases independent films from local, regional and international artists in various categories ranging from short films to documentaries. The Ballunar Festival is an annual hot-air balloon spectacular. The Wings over Houston Air Fest at Ellington Field offers air acrobatics by military and civilian pilots.
Space Center Houston is a leading science and space learning center, the official visitor center of NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston and a Smithsonian Affiliate museum. You can experience interactive tours, camps, see Space Shuttles, meet Astronauts and learn all things NASA.
Parks and Recreation
The City of Houston operates the Sylvan Rodriguez Park on Clear Lake City Boulevard.
The Clear Lake City Community Association, Inc. (CLCAA) operates the Kermit H. Applewhite Sports and Recreation Center at 16511 Diana Lane. The center includes an indoor heated pool, a fitness room, several outdoor pools, an air-conditioned gymnasium, and tennis courts.
Clear Lake Park is a 59 acre park overlooking and adjacent to Clear Lake. The park offers traditional park amenities such as an open air pavilion, picnic tables, playground, splash pad as well as a boat launch and fishing pier, sports fields and 0.5 mile jogging trail, and community center.
The Edgar A. Smith Family YMCA is also nearby for all Clear Lake and Webster residents!
Commute
For those traveling toward the Houston metropolitan area, it is about a 35 minute drive via I-45 if traffic is light. For those avoiding I-45, there are other routes that have less traffic! And of course, there is always the HOV lane for those who are carpooling downtown!
